In the midst of a global pandemic, 8-year-old Max Coyne and his family faced a life-changing diagnosis. During the first week of the COVID-19 outbreak in Kentucky, Max was rushed to Kentucky Children's Hospital where he was diagnosed with diabetes. Once released from the hospital his family relied on UK HealthCare's Barnstable Brown Diabetes Center for education and support for what is their new normal. The family is able to attend education classes and ask questions without leaving their home by using TeleCare.
