Anne Harrison Receives Teaching Award From Physical Therapy Association

LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 18, 2013) — Physical therapist and American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) member Anne Leath Harrison, received APTA’s Dorothy E Baethke-Eleanor J Carlin Award during the APTA Conference & Exposition held in Salt Lake City, Utah, June 26-29, 2013.

 

Harrison is an associate professor and director of professional studies in the Division of Physical Therapy at the University of Kentucky College of Health Sciences. She has also worked as a physical therapist at Lexington Physical Therapy and Community Hospitals of Indianapolis.

 

Harrison received a UK College of Health Sciences Kingston Teaching Award in 1996 and an Outstanding Service Award from the Kentucky Physical Therapy Association in 2003. She was selected as one of the top 20 graduates from Krannert Physical Therapy Program and was a finalist for the UK Provost Outstanding Teaching Award.

 

The Dorothy E Baethke-Eleanor J Carlin Award was established in 1981 to acknowledge an individual who has made significant contributions to physical therapy education through excellence in academic teaching as exemplified in the professional and teaching careers of Dorothy E Baethke and Eleanor J Carlin.


The American Physical Therapy Association represents more than 85,000 physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and students of physical therapy nationwide.
