LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 16, 2012) - For more than 25 years, UK HealthCare physicians, faculty and staff have helped children in need have a happier holiday season by sponsoring them in the Circle of Love program.
Names of children, along with their wish lists, will be available from Nov. 19-21 and Nov. 26-30 at three Medical Campus locations:
- Chandler Hospital (in front of Pavilion H Gift Shop) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Kentucky Clinic (across from Wildcat Café) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Good Samaritan Hospital (in front of the cafeteria) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
"The holidays are a fun and festive time for many people, but for children whose parents struggle to make ends meet day to day, it can be a sad time instead," said Bonnie Thornton, volunteer services director at UK HealthCare. "For many years, our faculty, staff and physicians have been amazing with their generosity. We want to make sure that children in need have the happy holiday they deserve, too."
Gifts should be wrapped and returned with the wish list cards on Dec. 3 and 4 at Chandler Hospital North Lobby (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and the Good Samaritan customer relations office (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
Circle of Love wish lists are also available for off-site areas and all shift employees. If you are interested in picking one up, please contact Volunteer Services at (859) 323-6023.
The Circle of Love program is organized each year by UK HealthCare's Volunteer Services Department and implemented by a very devoted Circle of Love committee.
